30 novembre et 1er décembre
exceptional weekend with Flor ARGENTO

Last Tanda is a tribute to the milongueras and milongueros of the Golden Age of tango who still
today - at the age of 80 and 90 – continue to shine on Buenos Aires’ dance floors, delving deeper
into their style, creating every night unique figures and moves and making the tango a way of living,
of breathing.

let's discover Nelida Fernando, Toto Faraldo, Ofelia Rosito, El Nene Masci and Jorge García. They
are living leading figures of the moment in which the tango became a mass phenomenon in social
and sports clubs, where the best orchestras and tango dancers blossomed.

They are all part of the “creatives’ generation”. They express themselves through their way of walking,
standing and embracing, their torso movements and their footwork, their way of matching their dance
to the musical phrasing and the different instruments and moods each tango tells about. They’re
convinced that one has to look for their personal style. Hence the need to value these wonderful
artists.

Flor invited them whit an excuse: to imagine a last tanda of the night or of life.

They danced, talked and recorded this Last Tanda with photos, with three cameras, in brief interviews
and with the support of 360-degree virtual reality.

From each chat and fully respecting mes milongueros’ words, short stories emerged in which each
artist introduced themselves in first person, within the context of the dance-floor tango told from the
inside, as a specific social and artistic fact within the dancing.

We discovered, once more, that today they still dance every tango as if it were the last, putting all
their vigor and their passion in each step and dancing all that exists between one step and the next.

Flor Argento, professional dancer and teacher, with her friend Ignacio Vázquez, artist and curator, we developed the creative process of Last Tanda as a modern look from the point of view of the compromise and the complicity with these emblematic milongueros of the 40’s and 50’s who still dance.

MARC TOMASSi lives in Marseille, he is one of the collectif of Djs "El Trece".He is one of the main tango dj on the tango scene, invited in the main marathons and encuentros.
